Bob Mathias - the Athlete
The Dominican Republic's stamp shown here honoured
the American athlete Bob Mathias. He twice won the Olympic gold
medal for the decathlon. In 1947 he won his first victories - the
schoolboy 110-metres hurdles, the discus and the high jump. In 1948 at
the London Olympics he won a gold medal. He then began serious training
for the Helsinki Games and once more carried off the gold.

Olympic stamp Kaleidoscope
On the occasion of Lon Angeles Olympic Bangladesh released these stamps. The stamps depict Olympic cycling, hockey and vollyball in a lucid manner. Bangladesh used to release colourful stamps on almost every Olympic Games.
