on beijing 2008 olympic games
On 1st August, 2008 Australia released three stamps honouring Beijing Olympic Games. These stamps featured three sports representative of Australia's participation at the Beijing Olympics. An auspicious number for the Chinese, the number eight has been incorporated into the design. The Games commenced at 8 pm on the 8th day of the 8th month of 2008. Three stamps depict Basketball, Cycling and Gymnastics.
